REInvest 2024: Who committed how much renewable energy capacity creation

Among the other significant capacity commitments that were promised at the event on Monday include Avaada's 25,300 Mw, Ampin Energy's 21,000 Mw, Greenko's 20,000 Mw, SJVN Green Energy's 15,500 Mw, Tata Power Renewable Energy's 15,234 Mw, and SECI's 10,000 Mw.


Gandhinagar: Renewable energy developers have promised significant capacity creation commitments, and the required investments, to the government as part of their "Shapath Patra" agreements signed at the ongoing REInvest event in Ganghinagar, Gujarat.


Reliance Industries (RIL) has committed to set up 1 lakh Mw additional renewable capacity till 2030. It has also committed for manufacturing of 20,000 MW per year integrated solar PV and 20,000 MW equivalent of Glass capacity.

State-owned power generator NTPC Ltd has committed 41,300 MW, ReNew has committed 40,000 Mw, Adani Green Energy 38,300 Mw, Hero Future Energies 28,250 Mw, Axis Energy Ventures 27,900 Mw, Serentica Renewables has committed 26,000 Mw.

Other significant commitments include Zelestra's 9,850 Mw, NHPC's 9,558 Mw, O2 Power's 9,500 Mw, Torrent Power's 8,710 Mw, Azure Power's 7,052 Mw, Azure Power's 7,052 Mw, R P Sanjiv Goenka's 6,975 Mw, Juniper Green Energy's 6,230 Mw, Engie Energy's 6,050 Mw and Cleanmax Enviro's 6,000 Mw.


Additionally, ReNew has committed for manufacturing of 6,000 Mw per year ingot-wafer, cells and modules capacity, and Avaada has committed for manufacturing of 5,000 Mw per year ingot-wafer, cells and modules capacity. Tata Power has also committed to setting up cells and modules manufacturing capacity of 5,000 Mw per year.

The 4th Global Renewable Energy Investor’s Meet and Expo (RE-INVEST) has been organised by MNRE and CII and was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday. The 3-day event comes on the backdrop of India's achievement of over 200 GW of installed non-fossil fuel capacity. It is the latest in a series of high profile industry events organised by the Indian government.


The government had organised the Global Fintech Fest earlier this month, followed by the First International Solar Festival, the Global Semiconductor Summit, and India also hosted the 2nd Asia-Pacific Civil Aviation Ministerial Conference recently.


Addressing the gathering, Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Shri Prahlad Joshi also made an appeal to all stakeholders to invest in India’s vibrant and rapidly growing RE sector. On the first day, the event was attended by the Governor of Gujarat, Acharya Devvrat, Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Bhupendra Patel, Chief ministers of Andhra Pradesh, Rajastahn, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Goa, among others.
