This is 25.8 Percent of the country's total wind energy production, the minister added.He added that the state govt has set a target of generating 100 gigawatts of power through conventional and renewable sources and various initiatives have been taken up to achieve this target.An official statement said that organizations like the Association of Renewable Energy Agencies of States (AREAS), National Institute of Wind Energy (NIWE) and the union new and renewable energy department have given four awards to Gujarat in the past three years for setting up windmills.MoS climate change, Mukesh Patel, said that Gujarat first announced a wind energy policy in 1993-94, and it has since been revised five times.
